alpha M subunit (Mr 170 kDa) of the CD11b/CD18 heterodimer>br>CD11b (integrin alpha M subunit) combines with CD18 (integrin beta 2 subunit) to form the integrin Mac-1, also known as complement receptor 3 (CR3), which mediates adhesion to C3bi and ICAM-1 (CD54).^2-6 Mac-1 is expressed at varying levels on granulocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, NK cells, and B-1 cells in the peritoneal and pleural cavities.^2, 7-10 In addition to its role in binding C3bi on opsonized targets and mediation of the subsequent ingestion process,^4, 11 Mac-1 is important as an adhesion molecule in the transendothelial migration of monocytes and neutrophils.^12

Product Notes

The ITGAM (Catalog #AAA673208) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rat Anti-Mouse CD11b/Mac-1a-FITC reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD11b/Mac-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry; Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections); Immunoprecipitation. Flow Cytometry Suggested Dilution: <= 1 ug/10^6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGAM for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD11b/Mac-1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
