Mouse anti-Human IL-21 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-IL21 antibody
Mouse Anti-Human IL-21-BIOT
Interleukin-21 (IL-21) is a four helical bundle type I cytokine1. The mature form of human IL-21 is a 131 amino acid protein.4 IL-21 is expressed primarily by NKT and CD4+ T cells, particularly the inflammatory Th17 subset and has pleiotropic effects on both innate and adaptive immune responses. The effects of IL-21 include promotion of antibody production, NK cell differentiation, proliferation and differentiation of cells of monocyte and granulocyte lineages, costimulation of T cells and augmentation of antitumor activity of CD8+ T cells.2, 3 Recent studies have shown that IL-21 is also an autocrine cytokine that potently induces Th17 differentiation and suppresses Foxp3 expression, and serves as a target for treating inflammatory diseases. Clone SB134f can be used as a detection antibody for sandwich ELISA.5

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the common-gamma chain family of cytokines with immunoregulatory activity. The encoded protein plays a role in both the innate and adaptive immune responses by inducing the differentiation, proliferation and activity of multiple target cells including macrophages, natural killer cells, B cells and cytotoxic T cells. Dysregulation of this gene plays a role in multiple immune-mediated diseases including lupus, psoriasis and chronic inflammatory diseases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Uniprot Description
Function: Cytokine with immunoregulatory activity. May promote the transition between innate and adaptive immunity. Induces the production of IgG1 and IgG3 in B-cells
By similarity. May play a role in proliferation and maturation of natural killer (NK) cells in synergy with IL15. May regulate proliferation of mature B- and T-cells in response to activating stimuli. In synergy with IL15 and IL18 stimulates interferon gamma production in T-cells and NK cells. During T-cell mediated immune response may inhibit dendritic cells (DC) activation and maturation. Ref.1 Ref.6
Subcellular location: Secreted Ref.1.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in activated CD4-positive T-cells but not in CD8-positive T-cells, B-cells, or monocytes. Ref.1
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-15/IL-21 family.

Product Notes
The IL21 il21 (Catalog #AAA670222) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human IL-21-BIOT reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IL-21 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA. ELISA: 1.0 - 5.0ug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL21 il21 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-21, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
