Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

A 14 amino acid peptide sequence near the C-terminal, cytoplasmic domain of the mouse Cx45 (2) was used to generate anti-mouse Cx45. A cysteine has been added at the NH2 terminus for coupling to KLH. The mouse Cx45 peptide sequence is 100% homologous in chicken, canine, human and mouse (AA 285-298) Cx45 (4). It has no significant homology with other Connexins.

Hydropathy analyses of Cx sequences predicts 4 transmembrane, 2 extracellular (EC), and 3 cytoplasmic (CP) domains. The EC, TM, and N-terminal CP domains are well conserved among family members, while Central and C-terminal domains are highly variable in both sequence and size. The N and C-termini are predicted to be cytoplasmic.
