Molecular Biology Grade
> 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Synonyms
Lymphotactin; Recombinant; Human (Small Inducible Cytokine Subfamily C Member 1; SCYC1; Chemokine C Motif Ligand 1; Ltn); XCL1 active protein
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
Molecular Biology Grade
> 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Form/Format
Lyophilized protein with no additives. The protein may appear as a haze or film which is difficult to see at the bottom of the vial.
Biological Activity
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood lymphocytes using a concentration range of 10-100ng/ml
Country of Origin
USA
Endotoxin Level
< 0.1ng per ug of lymphotactin.
Reconstitution
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at RT. It is best stored at -20 degree C. Reconstituted lymphotactin should be stored in working aliquots at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for XCL1 active protein
Lymphotactin is a newly discovered chemokine that exhibits chemotactic activity toward lymphocytes but not towards monocytes or neutrophils. Human lymphotactin is 10.2kD protein containing 92 amino acid residues.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the chemokine superfamily. Chemokines function in inflammatory and immunological responses, inducing leukocyte migration and activation. The encoded protein is a member of the C-chemokine subfamily, retaining only two of four cysteines conserved in other chemokines, and is thought to be specifically chemotactic for T cells. This gene and a closely related family member are located on the long arm of chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

Function: Chemotactic activity for lymphocytes but not for monocytes or neutrophils.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Tissue specificity: Highest level in spleen, lower in peripheral leukocytes and very low levels in lung, colon and small intestine.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine gamma family.

Product Notes

The XCL1 xcl1 (Catalog #AAA650359) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lymphotactin, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
