Related Product Information for KLK11 active protein
Kallikrein 11 is expressed in brain, skin, ovary and prostate. Increased levels of Kallikrein 11 have been reported in prostate and ovarian carcinoma. It is a serine protease. Kallikrein 11 (KLK11), also known as hippostasin, trypsin-like serine protease and PRSS20, is a member of human tissue kallikrein family.6 Two alternatively spliced forms exist, resulting in 250 (isoform 1) and 282 (isoform 2) amino acid sequences, respectively.1-4. Isoform 1 consists of a signal peptide (residues 1-18), a short pro peptide (residues 19-21) and the mature chain

NCBI Description

Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Alternate splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms which are differentially expressed.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

KLK11: Possible multifunctional protease. Efficiently cleaves 'bz-Phe-Arg-4-methylcoumaryl-7-amide', a kallikrein substrate, and weakly cleaves other substrates for kallikrein and trypsin. Cleaves synthetic peptides after arginine but not lysine residues. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Kallikrein subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted; Protease; Secreted, signal peptide; EC 3.4.21.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.33

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space

Molecular Function: serine-type peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity

Product Notes

The KLK11 klk11 (Catalog #AAA636984) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kallikrein 11, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
