NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that is a subunit of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport II (ESCRT-II). This protein complex functions in sorting of ubiquitinated membrane proteins during endocytosis. A pseudogene of this gene is present on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Uniprot Description
VPS25: Component of the ESCRT-II complex (endosomal sorting complex required for transport II), which is required for multivesicular body (MVB) formation and sorting of endosomal cargo proteins into MVBs. The MVB pathway mediates delivery of transmembrane proteins into the lumen of the lysosome for degradation. The ESCRT-II complex is probably involved in the recruitment of the ESCRT-III complex. The ESCRT-II complex may also play a role in transcription regulation, possibly via its interaction with ELL. The ESCRT-II complex may be involved in facilitating the budding of certain RNA viruses. Belongs to the VPS25 family.

Product Notes
The VPS25 vps25 (Catalog #AAA6362719) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VPS25, CT (VPS25, DERP9, EAP20, Vacuolar protein-sorting-associated protein 25, Dermal papilla-derived protein 9, ELL-associated protein of 20kD, ESCRT-II complex subunit VPS25) (AP) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VPS25 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VPS25 vps25 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VPS25, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
