Related Product Information for anti-NGFR antibody
p75 neurotrophin receptor, also named low affinity NGF receptor (NGF R), is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor family. NGF R cDNA encodes a 427aa residue precursor protein with a 28aa residue signal peptide, a 222aa residue extracellular domain, a 22aa residue transmembrane domain and a 155aa residue intracellular domain. The extracellular region contains four cysteine-rich domains and binds NGF, BDNF, NT-3 and NT-4 approximately equally with low affinity. The cytoplasmic region contains a subtype 2 death domain. NGF R expression has been shown to occur widely during development and in the adult. Expression has been detected in both neuronal and non-neuronal cells. NGF R was originally reported to function as a positive regulator of TrkA activity. NGF R has also been shown to signal by itself. Depending on its cellular environment, NGF R has now been shown to regulate cell migration, gene expression and to mediate apoptosis. Recombinant NGF R/Fc chimera binds NGF with high affinity and is a potent NGF antagonist. Naturally occurring truncated NGF R containing the extracellular domain and lacking the transmembrane or intracellular domain has been detected in vivo in urine, plasma and in amniotic fluid of humans and rats.

NCBI Description

Nerve growth factor receptor contains an extracellular domain containing four 40-amino acid repeats with 6 cysteine residues at conserved positions followed by a serine/threonine-rich region, a single transmembrane domain, and a 155-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The cysteine-rich region contains the nerve growth factor binding domain. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

NGFR: Low affinity receptor which can bind to NGF, BDNF, NT-3, and NT-4. Can mediate cell survival as well as cell death of neural cells. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Interacts with p75NTR- associated cell death executor. Interacts with TRAF2, TRAF4, TRAF6, PTPN13 and RANBP9. Interacts through TRAF6 with SQSTM1 which bridges NGFR to NTRK1. Interacts with BEX1 and NGFRAP1/BEX3. Interacts with KIDINS220 and NTRK1. Can form a ternary complex with NTRK1 and KIDINS220 and this complex is affected by the expression levels of KIDINS220. An increase in KIDINS220 expression leads to a decreased association of NGFR and NTRK1. Interacts with NTRK2; may regulate the ligand specificity of the NTRK2 receptor. Interacts with LINGO1.

Product Notes

The NGFR ngfr (Catalog #AAA627404) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, p75 (NGFR, NGF Receptor, CD271, Gp80 LNGFR, Low Affinity Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, Low Affinity Neurotrophin Receptor p75 NTR, p75 ICD, p75 Neurotrophin, p75 NTR, Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Superfamily Member 16, TNFR reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, p75 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NGFR ngfr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, p75, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
