Related Product Information for anti-GJB5 antibody
Gap junctions are conduits that allow the direct cell-to-cell passage of small cytoplasmic molecules, including ions, metabolic intermediates, and second messengers, and thereby mediate intercellular metabolic and electrical communication. Gap junction channels consist of connexin protein subunits, which are encoded by a multigene family. GJBs (gap-junction proteins or connexins) such as GJB5 are thought to play crucial functional roles associated with these channels.

NCBI Description

Gap junctions are conduits that allow the direct cell-to-cell passage of small cytoplasmic molecules, including ions, metabolic intermediates, and second messengers, and thereby mediate intercellular metabolic and electrical communication. Gap junction channels consist of connexin protein subunits, which are encoded by a multigene family.[supplied by OMIM]

Uniprot Description

GJB5: One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. Belongs to the connexin family. Beta-type (group I) subfamily.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p35.1

Cellular Component: connexon complex; integral to membrane

Biological Process: epidermis development; cell communication

Product Notes

The GJB5 gjb5 (Catalog #AAA627099) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Connexin 31.1, ID (Gap Junction beta-5 Protein, Connexin-31.1, Cx31.1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Connexin 31.1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GJB5 gjb5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Connexin 31.1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
