Recombinant Fusion Protein (amino terminal; 576 amino acids)
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-Catenin alpha1 antibody
The catenins are polypeptides that bind to the conserved cytoplasmic tail of cadherins and are required for cadherin function (2). a-Catenin is a 102kD protein that is associated with the cadherin indirectly through its interaction with b-catenin and g-catenin (3). b-Catenin and its homolog plakoglobin associate directly with the cadherin (4). Thus, the cell-cell adherens junction is a structure composed of the transmembrane cadherin, which is associated directly with either b-catenin or plakoglobin, which in turn assoctiates directly with a-catenin. a-Catenin then mediates the interaction between the cadherin-catenin complex and the actin cytoskeleton (5,6). a-Catenin has been characterized as a tumor suppressor, suggesting that it may have a regulatory function in regulation to its structural role (7).

Product Notes

The Catenin alpha1 (Catalog #AAA620662) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Catenin alpha1 (CTNNA1, Catenin (Cadherin-associated Protein), alpha 1, 102kDa, HGNC:2509, CAP102, FLJ36832, alpha 1 (102kD), alpha-E-Catenin, alpha-Catenin, alphaE-Catenin) reacts with Canine, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Catenin alpha1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and ELISA. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:250-1:500; Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. Requires pressure cooker antigen retrieval method. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Catenin alpha1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Catenin alpha1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
