Related Product Information for anti-RGS3 antibody
RGS3 (regulator of G protein signaling 3) is a 519-residue protein that is widely expressed. The protein contains an RGS domain near the carboxy terminus that serves as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP). RGS3 negatively regulates the activation of Gi and Gq. A truncated RGS3 (RGS3T), with its N-terminal 313 residues removed, has been shown to negatively regulate acenylyl cyclase and PLC. RGS3T may be localized in the nucleus and RGS3 is found in cytoplasm. Translocation to membrane is important for the RGS proteins to interact with heterotrimeric G proteins.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signaling (RGS) family. This protein is a GTP-ase activating protein which inhibits G-protein mediated signal transduction. The protein is largely cytosolic, but G-protein activation leads to translocation of this protein to the plasma membrane. A nuclear form of this protein has also been described, but its sequence has not been identified. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene but the full-length nature of some transcripts is not yet known. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

RGS3: Down-regulates signaling from heterotrimeric G-proteins by increasing the GTPase activity of the alpha subunits, thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Down-regulates G- protein-mediated release of inositol phosphates and activation of MAP kinases. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GAPs, RGS; GAPs

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q32

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol

Molecular Function: GTPase activator activity

Biological Process: regulation of G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; inactivation of MAPK activity; positive regulation of GTPase activity

Product Notes

The RGS3 rgs3 (Catalog #AAA616454) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RGS3 (Regulator of G protein signaling 3) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RGS3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RGS3 rgs3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RGS3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
