Related Product Information for anti-VPS28 antibody
This protein is involved in endosomal sorting of cell surface receptors via a multivesicular body/late endosome pathway. It is one of the three subunits of the ESCRT-I complex (endosomal complexes required for transport) involved in the sorting of ubiquitinated proteins. The two other subunits of ESCRT-I are vesicular protein sorting 23, also known as tumor susceptibility gene 101 (TSG101), and vesicular protein sorting 37.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein involved in endosomal sorting of cell surface receptors via a multivesicular body/late endosome pathway. The encoded protein is one of the three subunits of the ESCRT-I complex (endosomal complexes required for transport) involved in the sorting of ubiquitinated proteins. The two other subunits of ESCRT-I are vesicular protein sorting 23, also known as tumor susceptibility gene 101 (TSG101), and vesicular protein sorting 37. Two alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described. Additional alternative transcripts may exist but the proteins encoded by these transcripts have not been verified experimentally. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

VPS28: Component of the ESCRT-I complex, a regulator of vesicular trafficking process. Belongs to the VPS28 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Vesicle

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q24.3

Cellular Component: late endosome membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; endosome membrane; cytosol; endosome

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein complex binding

Biological Process: viral reproduction; ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process via the multivesicular body pathway; viral protein processing; negative regulation of protein ubiquitination; virus assembly; viral infectious cycle; endosome transport; protein targeting to vacuole during ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process via the MVB pathway

Product Notes

The VPS28 vps28 (Catalog #AAA614741) is an Antibody produced from Chicken and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Vacuolar Protein Sorting 28 (Yeast) (VVPS 28, VPS28, MGC60323, Tumor Susceptibility Gene 101 TSG101, Yeast Class E Protein Vps28p Homolog) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Vacuolar Protein Sorting 28 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VPS28 vps28 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vacuolar Protein Sorting 28, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
