Related Product Information for anti-TRPV3 antibody
Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient (1). They are present in the membranes that surround all biological cells because their main function is to regulate the flow of ions across this membrane. Whereas some ion channels permit the passage of ions based on charge, others conduct based on a ionic species, such as sodium or potassium. Furthermore, in some ion channels, the passage is governed by a gate which is controlled by chemical or electrical signals, temperature, or mechanical forces. There are a few main classifications of gated ion channels. There are voltage- gated ion channels, ligand- gated, other gating systems and finally those that are classified differently, having more exotic characteristics. The first are voltage- gated ion channels which open and close in response to membrane potential. These are then separated into sodium, calcium, potassium, proton, transient receptor, and cyclic nucleotide-gated channels; each of which is responsible for a unique role. Ligand-gated ion channels are also known as ionotropic receptors, and they open in response to specific ligand molecules binding to the extracellular domain of the receptor protein. The other gated classifications include activation and inactivation by second messengers, inward-rectifier potassium channels, calcium-activated potassium channels, two-pore-domain potassium channels, light-gated channels, mechano-sensitive ion channels and cyclic nucleotide-gated channels. Finally, the other classifications are based on less normal characteristics such as two-pore channels, and transient receptor potential channels (2). The TRPV3 protein belongs to a family of nonselective cation channels that function in a variety of processes, including temperature sensation and vasoregulation. The thermosensitive members of this family are expressed in subsets of sensory neurons that terminate in the skin, and are activated at distinct physiological temperatures. This channel is activated at temperatures between 22 and 40 degrees C. The gene lies in close proximity to another family member (TRPV1) gene on chromosome 17, and the two encoded proteins are thought to associate with each other to form heteromeric channels (3, 4).

NCBI Description

This gene product belongs to a family of nonselective cation channels that function in a variety of processes, including temperature sensation and vasoregulation. The thermosensitive members of this family are expressed in subsets of sensory neurons that terminate in the skin, and are activated at distinct physiological temperatures. This channel is activated at temperatures between 22 and 40 degrees C. This gene lies in close proximity to another family member (TRPV1) gene on chromosome 17, and the two encoded proteins are thought to associate with each other to form heteromeric channels. Uniprot Description

TRPV3: Putative receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. It is activated by innocuous (warm) temperatures and shows an increased response at noxious temperatures greater than 39 degrees Celsius. Activation exhibits an outward rectification. May associate with TRPV1 and may modulate its activity. Is a negative regulator of hair growth and cycling: TRPV3-coupled signaling suppresses keratinocyte proliferation in hair follicles and induces apoptosis and premature hair follicle regression (catagen). May form a heteromeric channel with TRPV1. Interacts with TRPV1. Abundantly expressed in CNS. Widely expressed at low levels. Detected in dorsal root ganglion. Expressed in the keratinocyte layers of the outer root sheath and, to lesser extent, to the matrix of the hair follicles. Belongs to the transient receptor (TC 1.A.4) family. TrpV subfamily. TRPV3 sub-subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TRPV3 trpv3 (Catalog #AAA606078) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Vanilloid Receptor Like Protein 3 (Vanilloid Receptor-like 3, VRL 3, VRL-3, VRL3, HGNC:18084, Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily V Member 3, Trpv3 Heat Sensitive Channel, TRPV3) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Vanilloid Receptor Like Protein 3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 0.1-1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRPV3 trpv3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vanilloid Receptor Like Protein 3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
