Related Product Information for anti-ITGB6 antibody
Integrins are a large family of transmembrane proteins composed of an alpha and beta component. Integrins are involved in a diversity of biological functions such as cell adhesion, structure, differentiation, apoptosis and cell proliferation. They are the principal cell surface receptors that recognise cell to matrix interactions but little is known about the expression of beta 1 integrin family on airway smooth muscle (ASM) and their involvement in proliferation. This is a contributing factor in structural changes seen in asthma.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the integrin superfamily. Members of this family are adhesion receptors that function in signaling from the extracellular matrix to the cell. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. The encoded protein forms a dimer with an alpha v chain and this heterodimer can bind to ligands like fibronectin and transforming growth factor beta 1. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]

Uniprot Description

ITGB6: Integrin alpha-V/beta-6 is a receptor for fibronectin and cytotactin. It recognizes the sequence R-G-D in its ligands. Internalisation of integrin alpha-V/beta-6 via clathrin-mediated endocytosis promotes carcinoma cell invasion. Belongs to the integrin beta chain family.

The Integrin beta6 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Integrin beta6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Not suitable for use in Function Blocking or Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Immunoprecipitation : Because MBS603792 is and IgG2a, protein Gor rabbit anti-mouse IgG is helpful for capture. Immunohistochemistry & Immunocytochemistry: Acetone fixed, Nuclear background staining limits usefulnesss in these techniques. Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGB6 itgb6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Integrin beta6, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
