Related Product Information for anti-PARD6A antibody
PAR6 is a cell membrane protein involved in cell polarization and asymmetrical cell division processes as part of a multi protein complex. It is thought to be involved in the invasive phenotype that is associated with metastatic carcinomas, playing a role in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT). PAR6 is also thought to be involved in the formation of epithelial tight junctions. PAR6 contains a semi Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB) domain and a PDZ (PSD95/Discs-large/ZO1) domain, and several different PAR6 isoforms have been identified.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the PAR6 family and encodes a protein with a PSD95/Discs-large/ZO1 (PDZ) domain and a semi-Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB) domain. This cell membrane protein is involved in asymmetrical cell division and cell polarization processes as a member of a multi-protein complex. The protein also has a role in the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) that characterizes the invasive phenotype associated with metastatic carcinomas. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PARD6A: Adapter protein involved in asymmetrical cell division and cell polarization processes. Probably involved in the formation of epithelial tight junctions. Association with PARD3 may prevent the interaction of PARD3 with F11R/JAM1, thereby preventing tight junction assembly. The PARD6-PARD3 complex links GTP-bound Rho small GTPases to atypical protein kinase C proteins. Interacts with MAP2K5. Interacts with PARD3. Interacts with GTP-bound forms of CDC42, ARHQ/TC10 and RAC1. Interacts with the N-terminal part of PRKCI and PRKCZ. Part of a complex with PARD3, CDC42 or RAC1 and PRKCI or PRKCZ. Part of a complex with LLGL1 and PRKCI. Interacts with human T-cell leukemia virus type I TAX protein. Interacts with MPP5 and CRB3. Interacts with TGFBR1; involved in TGF-beta induced epithelial to mesenchymal transition. Interacts with ECT2 ('Thr- 359' phosphorylated form) and PRKCI. Expressed in pancreas, skeletal muscle, brain and heart. Weakly expressed in kidney and placenta. Belongs to the PAR6 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PARD6A pard6a (Catalog #AAA6002402) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PARD6A, CT (Partitioning Defective 6 Homolog alpha, PAR-6, PAR-6 alpha, PAR-6A, PAR6C, Tax Interaction Protein 40, TIP-40, PAR6A) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PARD6A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:8000 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PARD6A pard6a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PARD6A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
