NCBI Description

This locus represents a small inducible cytokine. The encoded protein, also known as macrophage inflammatory protein 1 alpha, plays a role in inflammatory responses through binding to the receptors CCR1, CCR4 and CCR5. Polymorphisms at this locus may be associated with both resistance and susceptibility to infection by human immunodeficiency virus type 1.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]

Uniprot Description

CCL3: Monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. Binds to CCR1, CCR4 and CCR5. One of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-alpha induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The MIP-1alpha ccl3 (Catalog #AAA592087) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The mAb anti-human MIP-1alpha reacts with Human. Other species not tested Does not show any cross reaction with other human cytokines or growth factors tested such as M-CSF, GM-CSF, IL-7, IL-8, IL-16, IL-1beta, bFGF, TGF-beta, EGF, TNF-alpha and EPO. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MIP-1alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MIP-1alpha ccl3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MIP-1alpha, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
