Host
Rabbit
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
Affinity purified antibodies of polyclonal Rabbit antiSerum to cytochrome c from Horse heart.
Form/Format
Purified hyperimmune rabbit IgG antibodies lyophilised from a solution in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2), stabilized with dextran. No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added.
Applicable Applications for anti-CYCS antibody
Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Source
Cytochrome c is isolated and purified from horse heart. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Product
Purified hyperimmune rabbit IgG antibodies lyophilised from a solution in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2), stabilized with dextran. No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added. It is reconstituted by adding 0.5 ml sterile distilled water, spun down to remove insoluble particles, divided into small aliquots, frozen and stored at or below -20°C.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilised PAb fraction is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the product.
Related Product Information for anti-CYCS antibody
The reagents were evaluated for potency, purity and specificity using most or all of the following techniques: immunoelectrophoresis, cross-immunoelectrophoresis, single radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony), block titration, ELISA, immunoblotting and enzyme inhibition. This product is intended for use in precipitating and non-precipitating antibody-binding assays (such as e.g., ELISA and Western blotting and immunofluorescence or histochemical techniques); to prepare an insoluble immuno-affinity adsorbent; for labelling with a marker of the customer’s own choice.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a small heme protein that functions as a central component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria. The encoded protein associates with the inner membrane of the mitochondrion where it accepts electrons from cytochrome b and transfers them to the cytochrome oxidase complex. This protein is also involved in initiation of apoptosis. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal dominant nonsyndromic thrombocytopenia. Numerous processed pseudogenes of this gene are found throughout the human genome.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

CYCS: Electron carrier protein. The oxidized form of the cytochrome c heme group can accept an electron from the heme group of the cytochrome c1 subunit of cytochrome reductase. Cytochrome c then transfers this electron to the cytochrome oxidase complex, the final protein carrier in the mitochondrial electron-transport chain. Belongs to the cytochrome c family.

Protein type: Mitochondrial; Apoptosis; Protein phosphatase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.3

Cellular Component: protein phosphatase type 2A complex; mitochondrion; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrial intermembrane space; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: electron transporter, transferring electrons from CoQH2-cytochrome c reductase complex and cytochrome c oxidase complex activity; protein binding; iron ion binding; heme binding; protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity

Biological Process: cellular metabolic process; mitochondrion organization and biogenesis; response to reactive oxygen species; dephosphorylation; apoptosis; organelle organization and biogenesis; cellular respiration; mitochondrial electron transport, cytochrome c to oxygen; caspase activation via cytochrome c; DNA fragmentation during apoptosis; transmembrane transport; mitochondrial electron transport, ubiquinol to cytochrome c

Disease: Thrombocytopenia 4

Product Notes

The CYCS cycs (Catalog #AAA573028) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Cytochrome c can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CYCS cycs for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytochrome c, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
