Related Product Information for CD200 recombinant protein
CD200 is a member of the immunoglobulin type 1 superfamily that is highly expressed in the central nervous system, dendritic cells, and lymphocytes. CD200 is functionally involved in an immunosuppressive signaling pathway via interaction with its receptor, CD200R, with downstream effects of macrophage inhibition, induction of regulatory T cells, and inhibition of tumor-specific T cells. In addition to being expressed in normal tissues, CD200 has also been demonstrated in solid tumors5 and hematologic malignancies, such as acute leukemias, chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, hairy cell leukemia, mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma, classic Hodgkin lymphoma, and angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. In addition, neoplastic plasma cells frequently upregulate CD200 expression, as demonstrated by the large proportion of CD200+ plasma cell myeloma (PCM) cases (approximately 70%) found on gene expression profiling and flow cytometry. In contrast, normal plasma cells are CD200.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein, which contains two immunoglobulin domains, and thus belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Studies of the related genes in mouse and rat suggest that this gene may regulate myeloid cell activity and delivers an inhibitory signal for the macrophage lineage in diverse tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CD200: Costimulates T-cell proliferation. May regulate myeloid cell activity in a variety of tissues. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q13.2

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: regulation of immune response

Product Notes

The CD200 cd200 (Catalog #AAA553059) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEk293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD200 (MOX1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
