Biological Significance
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 12 (CCL12) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that has been described in mice. It is also known as monocyte chemotactic protein 5 (MCP-5) and, due to its similarity with the human chemokine MCP-1, sometimes it is called MCP-1-related chemokine. CCL12 specifically attracts eosinophils, monocytes and lymphocytes. This chemokine is found predominately in lymph nodes and thymus under normal conditions, and its expression can be hugely induced in macrophages.
Immunogen
MCP5 antibody was raised in rabbit using highly pure recombinant murine MCP-5 as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution product may be stored at 4 degree C in the short term. For long term storage aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Involved in chromosome segregation. Facilitates nuclear oscillation during meiotic prophase I, the 'horsetail' phase, by acting as a dynein anchor. Essential for anchoring dhc1 to the cortex. Required for proper sliding of the microtubules along the cell cortex, which leads to the proper U-turn movement of the nucleus.
