Related Product Information for anti-GPBB antibody
Bilogical Significance: Glycogen phosphorylase isoenzyme BB, (GPBB), is an isoenzyme of glycogen phosphorylase which exists in cardiac (heart) and brain tissue. Glycogen phosphorylase catalyzes the rate-limiting step in the degradation of glycogen in animals by releasing glucose-1-phosphate from the terminal alpha-1,4-glycosidic bond. An increase in blood levels of GPBB can be seen in myocardial infarction and unstable angina.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a glycogen phosphorylase found predominantly in the brain. The encoded protein forms homodimers which can associate into homotetramers, the enzymatically active form of glycogen phosphorylase. The activity of this enzyme is positively regulated by AMP and negatively regulated by ATP, ADP, and glucose-6-phosphate. This enzyme catalyzes the rate-determining step in glycogen degradation. Uniprot Description

PYGB: Phosphorylase is an important allosteric enzyme in carbohydrate metabolism. Enzymes from different sources differ in their regulatory mechanisms and in their natural substrates. However, all known phosphorylases share catalytic and structural properties. Belongs to the glycogen phosphorylase family.

Product Notes

The GPBB pygb (Catalog #AAA5306204) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's GPBB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunoassays, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for Western blotting and immunoassay and immunoaffinity purification. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GPBB pygb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GPBB, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
