Biological Significance
GMCSF is a potent species-specific stimulator of bone marrow cells. GM-CSF stimulates precursor cells of granulocytes, macrophages and eosinophils.
Bioactivity
The ED50 determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells is < 0.01 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1 x 10^7 units/mg
