Entrez Summary: The intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) belongs to a multigene family. FABPs are divided into at least three distinct types, namely the hepatic-, intestinal- and cardiac-type. They form 14-15 kDa proteins and are thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. They may also be responsible in the modulation of cell growth and proliferation. Fatty acid-binding protein 3 gene contains four exons and its function is to arrest growth of mammary epithelial cells. This gene is a candidate tumor suppressor gene for human breast cancer. (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).
UniPort Summary Function: FABP are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters.

Product Notes

The H-FABP fabp3 (Catalog #AAA475219) is an Antibody produced from Mouse Source: Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's H-FABP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, sELISA Detector. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the H-FABP fabp3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "H-FABP, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
