RTU ELISA Kit's Advantage
The Ready-To-Use (RTU) Kits require fewer steps in setup and take less time to run. Detection Solutions are pre-diluted and total incubation time is shorter than many other ELISA Kits.
Preparation and Storage
For unopened kits: All the reagents should be kept at 4 degree C upon receipt.
For opened kits: Once the kit is opened, the remaining reagents still need to be stored according to the above storage conditions. In addition, return the unused wells to the foil pouch containing the desiccant pack and reseal along entire edge of zip-seal.
Related Product Information for APLN rtu elisa kit
Test Principle: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to APLN has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled APLN and unlabeled APLN (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to APLN. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of APLN in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of APLN in the sample.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the neuropeptide Apelin, an endogenous ligand of the G protein-coupled receptor APJ. This gene is highly expressed in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues and the encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate mature peptides of different sizes that are secreted into the plasma. These peptides play important roles in a broad range of physiological processes such as cardiac contractility, blood pressure, blood vessel growth, appetite and drink behavior, and pituitary hormone secretion. Mice lacking the encoded protein develop progressive heart failure and exhibit a shorter bleeding time, prothrombotic profile and increased bone mass. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]

Uniprot Description

Endogenous ligand for the apelin receptor (APLNR). Drives internalization of APLNR (). Apelin-36 dissociates more hardly than (pyroglu)apelin-13 from APLNR (). Hormone involved in the regulation of cardiac precursor cell movements during gastrulation and heart morphogenesis (). Has an inhibitory effect on cytokine production in response to T-cell receptor/CD3 cross-linking; the oral intake of apelin in the colostrum and the milk might therefore modulate immune responses in neonates (PubMed:10525157). Plays a role in early coronary blood vessels formation (PubMed:28890073). Mediates myocardial contractility in an ERK1/2-dependent manner (). May also have a role in the central control of body fluid homeostasis by influencing vasopressin release and drinking behavior (PubMed:11359874).

Product Notes

The Mouse APLN apln (Catalog #AAA457678) is a RTU ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA457678 RTU ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse APLN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apelin (APLN), RTU ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
