Specificity
This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are mono-oxygenases, which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is induced by ethanol, the diabetic state, and starvation. The enzyme metabolizes both endogenous substrates, such as ethanol, acetone, and acetal, as well as exogenous substrates including benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ethylene glycol, and nitrosamines, which are pre-mutagens found in cigarette smoke. Due to its many substrates, this enzyme may be involved in such varied processes as gluconeogenesis, hepatic cirrhosis, diabetes, and cancer.
Form/Format
200ug/ml of Ab purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G. Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1mg/ml.
Sequence Length
493
Applicable Applications for anti-CYP2E1 antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin
Application Notes
IHC-F: 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT; Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Immunogen
Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide HIGFGCIPPR (C-terminal sequence)

Uniprot Description

Metabolizes several precarcinogens, drugs, and solvents to reactive metabolites. Inactivates a number of drugs and xenobiotics and also bioactivates many xenobiotic substrates to their hepatotoxic or carcinogenic forms.

Product Notes

The CYP2E1 cyp2e1 (Catalog #AAA439906) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cytochrome p450 reacts with Human. Others not known. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cytochrome p450 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. IHC-F: 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT; Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CYP2E1 cyp2e1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytochrome p450, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
