Specificity
Recognizes a dimer of two proteins of 70kDa and ~80kDa, identified as two subunits of Ku. MAb KU729 recognizes a conformational epitope of p70/p80 dimer, which is destroyed during Western blotting. The p70/p80 dimer is important for function of a 460kDa DNA-dependent protein kinase. Ku protein plays a role in cell signaling, proliferation, DNA repair, replication, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis.
Purity/Purification
Purified Ab conjugated to CF488
Form/Format
Antibody Purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G and conjugated to various reporter molecules. Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA and 0.05% azide. Contact us if you require this Ab in a different format.

NCBI Description

The p70/p80 autoantigen is a nuclear complex consisting of two subunits with molecular masses of approximately 70 and 80 kDa. The complex functions as a single-stranded DNA-dependent ATP-dependent helicase. The complex may be involved in the repair of nonhomologous DNA ends such as that required for double-strand break repair, transposition, and V(D)J recombination. High levels of autoantibodies to p70 and p80 have been found in some patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Ku70: a mini-chromosome maintenance protein, essential for the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. Allows DNA to undergo a single round of replication per cell cycle. Required for the entry in S phase and for cell division.

Product Notes

The Ku xrcc6 (Catalog #AAA4380928) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Ku (p70/p80) (Nuclear Marker) reacts with Human, Primates Does not react with Mouse, Rat or Chicken. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ku can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF). FC/FACS: 5ul per test per one million cells or 5ul per 100ul of whole blood IF: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Ku xrcc6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ku, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
