Related Product Information for anti-FBXW8 antibody
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, members of which are characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into three classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. This gene contains a WD-40 domain, in addition to an F-box motif, so it belongs to the Fbw class. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, members of which are characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into three classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene contains a WD-40 domain, in addition to an F-box motif, so it belongs to the Fbw class. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

FBXW8: Substrate-recognition component of a SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F- box protein)-type E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system; Cell development/differentiation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q24.22

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; cytoplasm; SCF ubiquitin ligase complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; ubiquitin-protein ligase activity

Biological Process: cell proliferation; protein ubiquitination; positive regulation of dendrite morphogenesis; Golgi organization and biogenesis

Product Notes

The FBXW8 fbxw8 (Catalog #AAA416697) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-FBXW8 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FBXW8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA titer: 1:160,000 Western blot analysis: 1:200-1000 Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FBXW8 fbxw8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FBXW8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
