Related Product Information for anti-UBE2V2 antibody
Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant proteins constitute a distinct subfamily within the E2 protein family. They have sequence similarity to other ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes but lack the conserved cysteine residue that is critical for the catalytic activity of E2s. This gene also shares homology with ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 1 and yeast MMS2 gene product. It may be involved in the differentiation of monocytes and enterocytes

NCBI Description

Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant proteins constitute a distinct subfamily within the E2 protein family. They have sequence similarity to other ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes but lack the conserved cysteine residue that is critical for the catalytic activity of E2s. The protein encoded by this gene also shares homology with ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 1 and yeast MMS2 gene product. It may be involved in the differentiation of monocytes and enterocytes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

UBE2V2: Has no ubiquitin ligase activity on its own. The UBE2V2/UBE2N heterodimer catalyzes the synthesis of non-canonical poly-ubiquitin chains that are linked through 'Lys-63'. This type of poly-ubiquitination does not lead to protein degradation by the proteasome. Mediates transcriptional activation of target genes. Plays a role in the control of progress through the cell cycle and differentiation. Plays a role in the error-free DNA repair pathway and contributes to the survival of cells after DNA damage. Belongs to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family.

Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q11.21

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus; UBC13-MMS2 complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; small conjugating protein ligase activity; ubiquitin protein ligase binding

Biological Process: regulation of DNA repair; positive regulation of synaptogenesis; cell proliferation; protein polyubiquitination; positive regulation of DNA repair; postreplication repair; positive regulation of proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; DNA double-strand break processing; protein ubiquitination; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis

Product Notes

The UBE2V2 ube2v2 (Catalog #AAA416096) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-UBE2V2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UBE2V2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Recommended dilutions: Peptide ELISA: 1:20,000 IF: 1:50 WB: 1:200 - 1:1000 Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UBE2V2 ube2v2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UBE2V2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
