Related Product Information for FGF20 active protein
FGF-20 is a heparin binding protein of the FGF family which works to control cell division, differentiation, and function. These proteins are especially prominent during prenatal development and postnatal growth. FGF-20 shares a high degree of homology with FGF-9 and FGF-16. The group of receptors which FGF-20 binds to comprises of FGFR1c, FGFR2c, FGFR3b, FGFR3c and FGFR4. It is shown that FGF-20 is found in a variety of cells, including but limited to, dopaminergic neurons, fibroblasts, keratinocytes and breast epithelium.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family. The fibroblast growth factors possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This gene product is a secreted neurotrophic factor but lacks a typical signal peptide. It is expressed in normal brain, particularly the cerebellum, and may regulate central nervous system development and function. Homodimerization of this protein was shown to regulate its receptor binding activity and concentration gradient in the extracellular matrix. Genetic variations of this gene have been associated with Parkinson disease susceptibility. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Product Notes

The FGF20 fgf20 (Catalog #AAA4159788) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FGF20, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
