Uniprot Description

TPX2: a microtubule-associated protein required for meiotic and mitotic spindle assembly. Targets a plus end-directed motor (XKLP2) to the minus ends of microtubules in the mitotic spindle. Required for microtubule nucleation around chromosomes in response to the local generation of RanGTP. Binds to and activates Aurora A kinase and targets it to the mitotic spindle.

Protein type: Microtubule-binding; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; microtubule cytoskeleton; axon hillock; spindle pole; microtubule; cytoplasm; spindle; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; GTP binding; protein kinase binding; ATP binding

Biological Process: mitosis; cell proliferation; apoptosis; cell division; activation of protein kinase activity

Product Notes

The TPX2 tpx2 (Catalog #AAA3208098) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TPX2 antibody - C-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TPX2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TPX2 tpx2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: LSGSLVQEPF QLATEKRAKE RQELEKRMAE VEAQKAQQLE EARLQEEEQK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TPX2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
