Related Product Information for ZADH1 blocking peptide
ZADH1 (zinc binding alcohol dehydrogenase, domain containing 1), also known as PTGR2 (prostaglandin reductase 2), PGR2 or 15-oxoprostaglandin 13-reductase, is a 351 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that belongs to the NADP-dependent oxidoreductase L4BD family. Functioning as s a 15-oxoprostaglandin 13-reductase, ZADH1 catalyzes the conversion of 15-keto-prostaglandin E2 to 15-keto-13, 14-dihydro-prostaglandin E2 in a NADPH-dependent manner. ZADH1 overexpression has been found to repress PPARgamma transcriptional activity and adipocyte differentiation. Widely expressed, ZADH1 is found at highest levels in heart, kidney, liver, pancreas and prostate, with moderate levels found in brain, small intestine, lung, testis and skeletal muscle. ZADH1 exists as a monomer, utilizes NADPH as a cofactor, and undergoes alternative splicing to produce two isoforms that are encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 14q24.3.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an enzyme involved in the metabolism of prostaglandins. The encoded protein catalyzes the NADPH-dependent conversion of 15-keto-prostaglandin E2 to 15-keto-13,14-dihydro-prostaglandin E2. This protein may also be involved in regulating activation of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

Uniprot Description

PTGR2: Functions as 15-oxo-prostaglandin 13-reductase and acts on 15-keto-PGE1, 15-keto-PGE2, 15-keto-PGE1-alpha and 15-keto- PGE2-alpha with highest activity towards 15-keto-PGE2. Overexpression represses transcriptional activity of PPARG and inhibits adipocyte differentiation. Belongs to the NADP-dependent oxidoreductase L4BD family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 1.3.1.48; Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q24.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Molecular Function: 15-oxoprostaglandin 13-oxidase activity; zinc ion binding

Biological Process: prostaglandin metabolic process

Product Notes

The ZADH1 ptgr2 (Catalog #AAA3006308) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's ZADH1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZADH1 ptgr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZADH1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
