Related Product Information for AOX1 blocking peptide
AOX1 (Aldehyde oxidase 1) is a 1338 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that catalyzes the oxidation of a variety of aldehydes, leading to the production of hydrogen peroxide. Under certain conditions, AOX1 can catalyze the formation of the superoxide free radical. Defects in oxygen radical metabolism have been linked to the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the death of motor neurons in the spinal cord, brain and brainstem. Significantly, AOX1 is highly expressed in the ventral horn of the spinal cord and the gene that encodes AOX1 is located in a chromosomal region that is frequently found to be implicated in ALS2. This evidence suggests that AOX1 is a candidate gene for ALS2.

Product Notes

The AOX1 aox1 (Catalog #AAA3005678) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's AOX1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AOX1 aox1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AOX1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
