NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory subunit of cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA), which is involved in the signaling pathway of the second messenger cAMP. Two regulatory and two catalytic subunits form the PKA holoenzyme, disbands after cAMP binding. The holoenzyme is involved in many cellular events, including ion transport, metabolism, and transcription. Several transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]
Uniprot Description
PKAR1B: Regulatory subunit of the cAMP-dependent protein kinases involved in cAMP signaling in cells. The inactive holoenzyme is composed of two regulatory chains and two catalytic chains. Activation by cAMP releases the two active catalytic monomers and the regulatory dimer. Interacts with PRKX; regulates this cAMP-dependent protein kinase. Four types of regulatory chains are found: I- alpha, I-beta, II-alpha, and II-beta. Their expression varies among tissues and is in some cases constitutive and in others inducible. Belongs to the cAMP-dependent kinase regulatory chain family.

Product Notes
The PKA prkar1b (Catalog #AAA3002385) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PKA Ibeta reg (F138) Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PKA Ibeta reg can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PKA prkar1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PKA Ibeta reg, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
