Related Product Information for anti-CD63  antibody
The cluster of differentiation (CD) system is commonly used as cell markers in immunophynotyping. Different kinds of cells in the immune system can be identified through the surface CD molecules which associating with the immune function of the cell. There are more than 320 CD unique clusters and subclusters have been identified. Some of the CD molecules serve as receptors or ligands important to the cell through initiating a signal cascade which then alter the behavior of the cell. Some CD proteins do not take part in cell signal process but have other functions such as cell adhesion. Cluster of differentiation 63 (CD63) is a member of the CD family and the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. CD63 is a cellular surface glycoprotein characterized by the presence of four bydrophobic domains. CD63 had functions in mediating signal transduction processes and then regulate variety of cellular processes such as cell proliferation, activation and motility. It has reported that CD63 protein associated with tumor progression and served as a blood platlet activation marker and the deficiency of this protein may be associated with Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. The encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins. It may function as a blood platelet activation marker. Deficiency of this protein is associated with Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome. Also this gene has been associated with tumor progression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]

Uniprot Description

CD63: This antigen is associated with early stages of melanoma tumor progression. May play a role in growth regulation. Belongs to the tetraspanin (TM4SF) family.

Product Notes

The CD63  cd63 (Catalog #AAA2544215) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Human CD63  Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD63  can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 0.1-0.2 mug/mL. This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 mug/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human CD63. The detection limit for Human CD63 is approximately 0.0049 ng/well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD63  cd63 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD63 , Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
