Background/Introduction: In vertebrates, the genes encoding the class of transcription factors called homeobox genes are found in clusters named A, B, C, and D on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation

Uniprot Description

HOXA4: Sequence-specific transcription factor which is part of a developmental regulatory system that provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. Binds to sites in the 5'-flanking sequence of its coding region with various affinities. The consensus sequences of the high and low affinity binding sites are 5'-TAATGA[CG]-3' and 5'-CTAATTTT- 3'. Belongs to the Antp homeobox family. Deformed subfamily.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.2

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: sequence-specific DNA binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: anterior/posterior pattern formation; anatomical structure morphogenesis; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent; embryonic skeletal morphogenesis

Product Notes

The HOXA4 hoxa4 (Catalog #AAA2525887) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HOXA4 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HOXA4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HOXA4 hoxa4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HOXA4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
