NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Rho-GAP family of GTPase activating proteins. The protein has substantial GAP activity towards several Rho-family GTPases in vitro, converting them to an inactive GDP-bound state. It is implicated in regulating adhesion of hematopoietic cells to the extracellular matrix. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ARHGAP9: GTPase activator for the Rho-type GTPases by converting them to an inactive GDP-bound state. Has a substantial GAP activity toward CDC42 and RAC1 and less toward RHOA. Has a role in regulating adhesion of hematopoietic cells to the extracellular matrix. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GAPs; GAPs, Rac/Rho; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.3

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-triphosphate binding; GTPase activator activity

Biological Process: regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; positive regulation of GTPase activity

Product Notes

The ARHGAP9 arhgap9 (Catalog #AAA2519409) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ARHGAP9 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ARHGAP9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARHGAP9 arhgap9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ARHGAP9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
