Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat PTGES. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat PTGES and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat PTGES and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Related Product Information for PTGES elisa kit
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of PTGES in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat PTGES. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat PTGES and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat PTGES, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat PTGES. You can calculate the concentration of Rat PTGES in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a glutathione-dependent prostaglandin E synthase. The expression of this gene has been shown to be induced by proinflammatory cytokine interleukin 1 beta (IL1B). Its expression can also be induced by tumor suppressor protein TP53, and may be involved in TP53 induced apoptosis. Knockout studies in mice suggest that this gene may contribute to the pathogenesis of collagen-induced arthritis and mediate acute pain during inflammatory responses. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Rat PTGES ptges (Catalog #AAA2502000) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2502000 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat PTGES. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTGES, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
