NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene may function as a DNA binding protein. Mutations in this gene are associated with pre-eclampsia/eclampsia 4 (PEE4). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

STOX1: Defects in STOX1 are the cause of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia 4 (PEE4); also known as gestational proteinuric hypertension. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-associated disease with maternal symptoms but placental origin. Unlike most other human disorders, it impacts 2 individuals, the mother and her child, both of whom can be severely affected. The pathological mechanism of PEE4 involves the loss of function of STOX1 in the placenta. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nucleolus

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q22.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding

Disease: Preeclampsia/eclampsia 4

Product Notes

The STOX1 stox1 (Catalog #AAA248420) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human STOX1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's STOX1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB (1 - 2 ug/ml) Usage: STOX1 antibody can be used for detection of STOX1 by Western blot at 1-2 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STOX1 stox1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STOX1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
