Related Product Information for anti-VEGF-A antibody
Rabbit anti Bovine VEGF-A antibody recognizes bovine vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), also known as vascular permeability factor (VPF). VEGF-A is a 22.3 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer belonging to the PDGF / VEGF family of growth factors. Bovine VEGF-A is a growth factor that induces cell proliferation in endothelial cells. It is important in endothelial cell growth, vasculogensis and angiogenesis. VEGF-A is also active in the induction of blood vessel permeability. This antibody has been shown to recognize VEGF-A in a range of mammalian species.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. It encodes a heparin-binding protein, which exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer. This growth factor induces proliferation and migration of vascular endothelial cells, and is essential for both physiological and pathological angiogenesis. It is upregulated in many known tumors and its expression is correlated with tumor stage and progression. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. A recent study showed that a C-terminally extended isoform is produced by use of an alternative in-frame translation termination codon via a stop codon readthrough mechanism, and that this isoform is antiangiogenic. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Uniprot Description

Growth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. Induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels. Binds to the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin ().

Product Notes

The VEGF-A vegfa (Catalog #AAA224910) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI BOVINE VEGF-A reacts with Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VEGF-A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: 1.0 ug/ml; 10 ug/ml Western Blot: 1.0 ug/ml; 10 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VEGF-A vegfa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VEGF-A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
