Related Product Information for anti-WNT-3a antibody
Rabbit anti Human WNT-3a antibody specifically recognizes human WNT-3a, a secreted protein and member of the Wnt family of signalling proteins, which acts as a ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors, and plays key roles in many developmental and cell fate decisions, including embryonic patterning, CNS development, and cytoskeletal formation. Wnt-3a acts as a promoter of the proliferation of ventral midbrain dopaminergic neuron precursor cells, and has been implicated in the progressive differentiation of anterior neural cells, as well as regulating the survival and expansion of neural progenitors derived from human embryonic stem cells. Wnt3a has been shown to act upstream of the Notch signalling pathway, in the regulation of somitogenesis, which is believed to be controlled by a segmentation clock, consisting of molecular oscillators in the Notch, Wnt3a and Fgf8 pathways.

NCBI Description

The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes which encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. This gene is a member of the WNT gene family. It encodes a protein which shows 96% amino acid identity to mouse Wnt3A protein, and 84% to human WNT3 protein, another WNT gene product. This gene is clustered with WNT14 gene, another family member, in chromosome 1q42 region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

WNT3A: Ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors. Wnt-3 and Wnt-3a play distinct roles in cell-cell signaling during morphogenesis of the developing neural tube. Interacts with PORCN. Interacts with APCDD1 and WLS. Component of the Wnt-Fzd-LRP5-LRP6 signaling complex that contains a WNT protein, a FZD protein and LRP5 or LRP6. Interacts directly in the complex with LRP6. Moderately expressed in placenta and at low levels in adult lung, spleen, and prostate. Belongs to the Wnt family.

Product Notes

The WNT-3a wnt3a (Catalog #AAA224360) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's WNT-3a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 2.0ug/ml; Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1; Maximum Dilution: 0.2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the WNT-3a wnt3a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "WNT-3a, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
