Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse WNT3A antibody. WNT3A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse WNT3A Antibody is added and binds to WNT3A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated WNT3A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse WNT3A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes which encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. This gene is a member of the WNT gene family. It encodes a protein which shows 96% amino acid identity to mouse Wnt3A protein, and 84% to human WNT3 protein, another WNT gene product. This gene is clustered with WNT14 gene, another family member, in chromosome 1q42 region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
