Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use, -20 degree C for 24 months
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a selenoprotein containing multiple selenocysteine (Sec) residues encoded by the UGA codon that normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTR of selenoprotein genes have a common stem-loop structure, the sec insertion sequence (SECIS), that is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. This selenoprotein is a secreted protein, and is unusual in that it contains 10 selenocysteine residues per polypeptide, constituting most of the selenium in plasma. It has been implicated as an extracellular antioxidant and in the transport of selenium. Transcript variants differing in the 5' UTR, but encoding the same protein, have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description

SEPP1: Might be responsible for some of the extracellular antioxidant defense properties of selenium or might be involved in the transport of selenium. May supply selenium to tissues such as brain and testis. Belongs to the selenoprotein P family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: extracellular region; extracellular space

Molecular Function: selenium binding

Biological Process: brain development; growth; locomotory behavior; post-embryonic development; response to selenium ion; selenium metabolic process; sexual reproduction

Product Notes

The SEPP1 sepp1 (Catalog #AAA2126202) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HRP-Linked Polyclonal Antibody to Selenoprotein P1, Plasma (SEPP1) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Selenoprotein P1, Plasma (SEPP1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 0.5-2ug/mL IHC: 5-20ug/mL ICC: 5-20ug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SEPP1 sepp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Selenoprotein P1, Plasma (SEPP1), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
