Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed.The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

(Interleukin-1 beta belongs to the interleukin 1 cytokine family, which plays a critical role in inflammation, immunity, antiviral responses, and a variety of diseases. It has been reported that IL-1beta-induced IL-6 production is mediated by both PI3K and IRAK4 in A549 cells. To test the bioactivity of IL-1beta, A549 cells were seeded into 24-well plate at a density of 1x10^5 cells/mL, and allowed to attach overnight before treated with or without certain concentrations (1ng/mL, 10ng/mL) of IL1-beta for 4h and IL-6 levels in the cell supernatant were determined by ELISA.IL-6 levels in the cell supernatant of A549 cells increased significantly after stimulated with IL1-beta, the data was shown in Table 1 and Figure 1.)

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is produced by activated macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed to its active form by caspase 1 (CASP1/ICE). This cytokine is an important mediator of the inflammatory response, and is involved in a variety of cellular activities, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The induction of cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX2) by this cytokine in the central nervous system (CNS) is found to contribute to inflammatory pain hypersensitivity. This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
