Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the target protein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors. The E2F family plays a crucial role in the control of cell cycle and action of tumor suppressor proteins and is also a target of the transforming proteins of small DNA tumor viruses. The E2F proteins contain several evolutionally conserved domains found in most members of the family. These domains include a DNA binding domain, a dimerization domain which determines interaction with the differentiation regulated transcription factor proteins (DP), a transactivation domain enriched in acidic amino acids, and a tumor suppressor protein association domain which is embedded within the transactivation domain. This protein and another 2 members, E2F1 and E2F3, have an additional cyclin binding domain. This protein binds specifically to retinoblastoma protein pRB in a cell-cycle dependent manner, and it exhibits overall 46% amino acid identity to E2F1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

E2F2: Transcription activator that binds DNA cooperatively with DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC- 3' found in the promoter region of a number of genes whose products are involved in cell cycle regulation or in DNA replication. The DRTF1/E2F complex functions in the control of cell-cycle progression from g1 to s phase. E2F2 binds specifically to RB1 in a cell-cycle dependent manner. Belongs to the E2F/DP family.

Product Notes

The E2F2 e2f2 (Catalog #AAA2033367) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's E2F Transcription Factor 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the E2F2 e2f2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: RY DTSLGLLTKK FIYLLSESED GVLDLNWAAE VLDVQKRRIY DITNVLEGIQ LIRKKAKNNI QWVGRGMFED PTRPGKQQQL GQELKELMNT EQALDQLIQS CSLSFKHLTE DKANKRLAYV TYQDIRAVGN FKEQTVIAVK APPQTRLEVP DRTEDNLQIY LKSTQGPIEV YLCPEEVQEP DSPSEEPLPS TSTLCPSPDS AQPSSSTDPS IMEPTASSVP APAPTPQQAP PPPSLVPLEA TDSLLELPHP LLQQTEDQFL SPTLACSSPL ISFSPSLDQD DYLWGLEAGE GISDLFDSY. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "E2F Transcription Factor 2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
