Recombinant MAP6 (Gln177~Glu387 (Accession # Q7TSJ2)) expressed in E.coli (MBS2029233)
Preparation and Storage
Storage:
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4ºC for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 24 months.

Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Uniprot Description

MAP6: Involved in microtubule stabilization in many cell types, including neuronal cells. Specifically has microtubule cold stabilizing activity. Interacts with calmodulin (via C-terminus); the interaction is dependent on Ca(2+). Expressed in brain. Expressed in spinal chord. Isoform 2 expression is up-regulated in the prefrontal cortex (Brodmann's area 46) of patients with schizophrenia (postmortem brain study). Belongs to the STOP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7|7 E1

Cellular Component: axon; cytoplasm; cytoskeleton; dendrite; Golgi apparatus; microtubule; neuron projection; perinuclear region of cytoplasm

Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; microtubule binding

Biological Process: axonal transport of mitochondrion; dendrite morphogenesis; lysosome localization; microtubule cytoskeleton organization; positive regulation of axonogenesis; transport

Product Notes

The MAP6 map6 (Catalog #AAA2028395) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Microtubule Associated Protein 6 (MAP6) reacts with Mus musculus (Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Microtubule Associated Protein 6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAP6 map6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Microtubule Associated Protein 6, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
