Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
neurotrophic factor specific for midbrain dopamine neurons; binds to GDNFR-alpha and mediates activation of the Ret protein tyrosine kinase receptor [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Function: Neurotrophic factor that enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake. May also modulate local neuronal effects in distal regions of the motor neuron. Ref.3
Subunit structure: Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Ref.1
Subcellular location: Secreted.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in both the central nervous system (CNS) and in non-CNS tissues, including the kidney, lung, bone, heart, liver, spleen, sciatic nerve and blood. In the brain, predominantly expressed in the striatum with highest levels in the caudate and lowest in the putamen. Localizes at the proximal ligature of the hypoglossal nerve. Ref.3 Ref.4 Ref.7
Induction: By melatonin. Ref.6
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the TGF-beta family. GDNF subfamily.
Sequence caution: The sequence CAB64357.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction. The sequence CAB64358.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction.

Product Notes
The GDNF gdnf (Catalog #AAA2018801) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Glial Cell Line Derived Neurotrophic Factor (GDNF) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GDNF gdnf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The target protein is fused with N-terminal His-Tag, its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glial Cell Line Derived Neurotrophic Factor (GDNF), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
