Related Product Information for TNF-alpha active protein
TNF-alpha, also known as tumor necrosis factor, is the prototypic ligand of the TNF superfamily. It is a pleiotropic molecule that plays a central role in inflammation, apoptosis, and immune system development. This protein is produced by a wide variety of immune and epithelial cell types. It is assembled intracellularly to form a noncovalently linked homotrimer which is expressed on the cell surface. Cell surface TNF can induce the lysis of neighboring tumor cells and virus infected cells, and it can generate its own downstream cell signaling following ligation by soluble TNFR I. It also promotes inflammatory responses by inducing the activation of vascular endothelial cells and macrophages. Recombinant Bovine TNF-alpha was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation. The TNF intracellular domain (ICD) form induces IL12 production in dendritic cells.

Product Notes

The TNF-alpha tnf (Catalog #AAA201122) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 78-234aa. AAA Biotech's TNF-alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Bioactivity, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TNF-alpha tnf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MLRSSSQASS NKPVAHVVAD INSPGQLRWW DSYANALMAN GVKLEDNQLV VPADGLYLIY SQVLFRGQGC PSTPLFLTHT ISRIAVSYQT KVNILSAIKS PCHRETPEWA EAKPWYEPIY QGGVFQLEKG DRLSAEINLP DYLDYAESGQ VYFGIIAL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TNF-alpha, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
