Related Product Information for anti-Kcnt1 antibody
Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. Slo2.2 is a sodium-activated potassium channel. Slo2.2 channels may contribute to the resting potentials of cells. They also have sensors that couple channel activity to intracellular concentrations of Na+ and Cl-.

NCBI Description

Na(+)-activated potassium channel; may be involved in regulating the firing properties of neurons [RGD]

Uniprot Description

KCNT1: Outwardly rectifying potassium channel subunit that may co-assemble with other Slo-type channel subunits. Activated by high intracellular sodium or chloride levels. Activated upon stimulation of G-protein coupled receptors, such as CHRM1 and GRIA1. May be regulated by calcium in the absence of sodium ions (in vitro). Belongs to the potassium channel family. Calcium- activated (TC 1.A.1.3) subfamily. KCa4.1/KCNT1 sub-subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Channel, potassium; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Cellular Component: voltage-gated potassium channel complex; membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: voltage-gated potassium channel activity; calcium-activated potassium channel activity; potassium channel activity

Biological Process: potassium ion transport

Product Notes

The Kcnt1 kcnt1 (Catalog #AAA190600) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Slo2.2 Sodium-Activated K+ Channel Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, mouse, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Slo2.2 Sodium-Activated K+ Channel can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblot; Immunohistochemistry; Immunocytochemistry; Immunofluorescence. Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of ~140kDa is detected. Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry: use at 0.1-1ug/ml. Immunofluorescence: use at 1-10ug/ml. These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application. Positive control: Rat brain lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Kcnt1 kcnt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Slo2.2 Sodium-Activated K+ Channel, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
