Related Product Information for IL1A elisa kit
Principle of the assay: mouse IL-1alpha ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from rat specific for IL-1alpha has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for IL-1alpha is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the mouse IL-1alpha amount of sample captured in plate.
Background: Interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1 alpha) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) are two biochemically distinct, but distantly related, polypeptidic cytokines that play a key role in inflammation, immunologic reactions, and tissue repair.1 IL-1 alpha hasbeen implicated in the pathogenesis of infectious, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.2 Recently, it has beenshown that IL-1 alpha is identical to hematopoietin 1, which is described as a hematopoietic growth factor acting on early progenitor cells in synergy with other hematopoietic growth factors.1 The human interleukin 1 alpha gene isassigned to chromosome 2.3 Genetic polymorphisms at interleukin (IL-1alpha and IL-1beta) have been recentlysuggested to be associated with severity of adult periodontitis.4 The murine IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta genes encodestructurally and evolutionarily related cytokines that exert a regulatory role in numerous physiological processes including hemopoiesis.5 The standard product used in this kit is recombinant mouse IL-1alpha with the molecular massof 18kDa.

Uniprot Description

IL1A: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytokine

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell surface; plasma membrane; extracellular region; cytosol

Molecular Function: interleukin-1 receptor binding; copper ion binding; cytokine activity

Biological Process: positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; positive regulation of mitosis; positive regulation of interleukin-2 biosynthetic process; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; germ cell programmed cell death; positive regulation of JNK cascade; positive regulation of interleukin-6 production; fever; positive regulation of stress-activated MAPK cascade; negative regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of angiogenesis; connective tissue replacement during inflammatory response; response to copper ion; positive regulation of cell division; keratinization; positive regulation of prostaglandin secretion; immune response; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of sensory perception of pain; inflammatory response; positive regulation of cytokine secretion

Product Notes

The Mouse IL1A il1a (Catalog #AAA175805) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA175805 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse IL1A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-1 alpha, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
