Related Product Information for anti-PNMT antibody
Introduction: PNMT is an enzyme located in the adrenal medulla and it catalyzes the final step of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway, which methylates norepinephrine to form epinephrine (adrenaline). PNMT has beta-carboline 2N-methyltransferase activity. PNMT takes part in regulating epinephrine production. Glucocorticoid receptors form multimers of PNMT independent of the DNA binding domain. PNMT expression is regulated late in mouse gestation by AP2-alpha and glucocorticoids.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene catalyzes the last step of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway, which methylates norepinephrine to form epinephrine (adrenaline). The enzyme also has beta-carboline 2N-methyltransferase activity. This gene is thought to play a key step in regulating epinephrine production. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]

Uniprot Description

PNMT: Converts noradrenaline to adrenaline. Belongs to the NNMT/PNMT/TEMT family.

Product Notes

The PNMT pnmt (Catalog #AAA140387) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Phenylethanolamine-N-Methyltransferase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PNMT pnmt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phenylethanolamine-N-Methyltransferase, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
