Arginine decarboxylase 1 (SPE1) Recombinant Protein | SPE1 recombinant protein
Recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana Arginine decarboxylase 1 (SPE1) , partial
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
encodes a arginine decarboxylase (ADC), a rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes the first step of polyamine (PA) biosynthesis via ADC pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana. Arabidopsis genome has two ADC paralogs, ADC1 and ADC2. Double mutant analysis showed that ADC genes are essential for the production of PA, and are required for normal seed development. Promoter region of ADC1 contains 742-bp AT-rich transposable element, called AtATE, that belongs to the MITE families of repetitive elements.
Uniprot Description
Required for the biosynthesis of putrescine. Catalyzes the first step of polyamine (PA) biosynthesis to produce putrescine from arginine (PubMed:11576438, PubMed:15733873, PubMed:25409942). Is a minor contributor to basal arginine decarboxylase (ADC) activity and putrescine biosynthesis (PubMed:25409942). Accumulation of putrescine plays a positive role in freezing tolerance (PubMed:18701673). Production of polyamines is essential for normal seed development (PubMed:15733873). Controls PA homeostasis which is crucial for normal plant growth and development (PubMed:27014322).

Product Notes
The SPE1 adc1 (Catalog #AAA1333679) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Arginine decarboxylase 1 (SPE1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
