Rhesus theta defensin-1/2 subunit B (RTD1B) Recombinant Protein | RTD1B recombinant protein
Recombinant Macaca mulatta Rhesus theta defensin-1/2 subunit B (RTD1B)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: RTD-1 and RTD-2 have similar antimicrobial activities against the Gram-positive bacteria S.aureus 502A and L.monocytogenes, the Gram-negative bacterium S.typhimurium, and the fungi C.albicans 16820 and C.neoformans 271A. RTD-2 is 2-3-fold less active than RTD-1 against E.coli ML35. Ref.3
Subunit structure: RTD-1 is a cyclic heterodimer composed of subunits A and B; disulfide-linked. RTD-2 is a cyclic homodimer composed of two subunits B; disulfide-linked. Ref.1
Tissue specificity: RTD-1 is expressed in bone marrow. Detected in promyelocytes, myelocytes and mature neutrophils and monocytes. Ref.1
Developmental stage: RTD-1 expression begins early during granulocyte myelopoiesis. Ref.1
Post-translational modification: Forms a cyclic peptide with 1 subunit B (RTD-2) or with 1 subunit A (RTD-1). An additional intersubunit disulfide bond is formed.
Miscellaneous: RTD-1 is 10-fold more present in cells than RTD-2.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the alpha-defensin family. Theta subfamily.
Mass spectrometry: Molecular mass is 2083.0 Da from positions 65 - 73. Determined by MALDI. RTD-1, heterodimer, cyclized and oxidized. Ref.3Molecular mass is 2087.9 Da from positions 65 - 73. Determined by MALDI. RTD-2, homodimer, cyclized and oxidized. Ref.3Molecular mass is 2087.70 Da from positions 65 - 73. Determined by MALDI. RTD-1, heterodimer and reduced. Ref.3Molecular mass is 2094.89 Da from positions 65 - 73. Determined by MALDI. RTD-2, homodimer and reduced. Ref.3

Product Notes
The RTD1B rtd1b (Catalog #AAA1075878) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 65-73aa; Cytoplasmic domain. The amino acid sequence is listed below: RCLCRR GVC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Rhesus theta defensin-1/2 subunit B (RTD1B), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
